There was almost always a ‘BOSS’ or a ‘superior’, and somebody you had to answer to, -marketers v/s customers, employees v/s employers, and companies v/s the community.

Since the evolution from the industrial age to an information age, and further knowledge eras, significant changes in the demographics, nature of doing business, advancing technology and a new- world economy are giving rise to powerful new models of production, based on community and self- organization.

As a growing number of firms see the benefits of mass collaboration, this new way of organizing will displace the traditional corporate structure as the economy’s primary vehicle of wealth creation.

To thrive and succeed in this new-world order, it will not be sufficient to simply intensify existing management strategies .Leaders must think differently about how to compete, and be profitable. This is more than open source, social networking blah that touch upon the subject. Instead, this calls for deep changes in the structure and operation of the corporation and the virtual economy, based on collaborative, competitive and ever evolving principles.
